Families are paying more for insurance, groceries, and housing, and crime is contributing to those higher costs. Michael Allen will protect Colorado families and their economic well-being — because public safety and economic prosperity go hand in hand.

Michael knows what it takes to tackle crime in Colorado. With his more than 20-year career in prosecution, he has the experience to fight for you and your family.

  • Elected District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District (El Paso and Teller Counties) in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Has served in prosecution since starting his prosecution career as an intern during law school in 2004.
  • Created an Organized Crime Unit to prosecute fentanyl traffickers, cartels, and violent robbery rings. This unit has prosecuted more fentanyl-death cases than any other office in Colorado, and secured the longest prison sentences statewide.
  • Launched Colorado’s first motor vehicle theft team, resulting in motor vehicle theft cases dropping from over 5,000 cases in 2024 to under 1,500 through November of 2025.
  • Prosecuted the Club Q mass shooting case as a hate crime and secured the second-longest prison sentence in Colorado history.
  • Delivered justice for the Stauch family by putting Gannon Stauch’s murderer behind bars for life.
  • Focused resources on prosecuting repeat domestic violence abusers.
  • Increased transparency through community outreach and creation of data dashboards.

“Evil never rests. The best defense against those who choose to do evil is committed, professional prosecution.”
